Coming Soon: March Man Crushes

By Joe Parello

Every March, sports fans everywhere fill out their NCAA Tournament brackets, hoping to pick the ultimate winner.

Well, with all due respect to the fine college basketball teams across the country, nobody is doing more #winning than the 64 guys we have selected for our March Man Crush Tournament.

What is a man crush? It's a guy that every other guy admires and wants to be. Think of the basic explanation of James Bond: Women want him, and men want to be him (Though we did not include the current James Bond, Daniel Craig. He just missed the cut).

The Methodology

To make a proper bracket, we chose 64 bro kings from four different categories-Actors, Musicians, Athletes and Miscellaneous- and ranked each field from 1-16. We then crossed those seeds so that no actor would face another actor in the first round, no athlete would face another athlete, etc.

The miscellaneous category does involve some non-actor figures from movies and TV, politicians, media personalities, and some guys that were just too cool to be contained in one of the other categories. Case in point, the top seed from Miscellaneous and owner of the tournament's top bracket, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The Top Seeds

While we won't reveal the entire bracket until tomorrow, here are the four total G's that sit atop their respective categories.

The Rock Bracket

As said above, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gets his own bracket for being the top ranked miscellaneous figure. The People's Champ made a name for himself in the late-90s as one of the top figures in the squared circle for the WWF/E. But, just when it looked like the Rock would rule wrestling the way Hulk Hogan did in the 1980s, he left the WWE to take over Hollywood.

Unlike Hogan's film career, the Rock is now a bona fide movie star and box office draw. With a number of blockbuster action films under his belt, and tons of cocoa butter on his arms, it's hard to see many guys inspiring more man crushes than the Brahma Bull.

The Timberlake Bracket

Justin Timberlake has made the amazing transformation from the boy band member that every guy wanted to punch, to the musician and all around personality that every guy wants to be. With an amazingly successful music career, a budding acting career, a marriage to Jessica Biel, and an effortless cool factor, who wouldn't want to be JT?

He also seems to not take himself that seriously, and there's something to be said for that.

The Brady Bracket

We have already gone over all the reasons Tom Brady is the biggest baller in sports recently, so I won't rehash them here. But, if a guy could trade places with any athlete, it's hard to see him picking somebody other than New England's number 12.

The DiCaprio Bracket

Actors were, by far, the hardest group to rank. But, even with guys like George Clooney and Will Smith to compete with, we believe Leo DiCaprio inspires the most man crushes. Like Timberlake, he has gone from teen heartthrob to legitimate master of his craft, and his knack for dating beautiful women for short periods of time, before moving onto the next one, is definitely man crush worthy.
