It was an eventful day in Springfield, as eight new MIAA state basketball champions were crowned. Our SuiteSports reporters split time between the MassMutual Center and Blake Arena to bring you coverage of the state championship games, including these images below.

Medfield's Maggy McCarthy scored her 1,000th points and helped her team earn a D2 state championship on her birthday.

Franklin's fans have brought it all year, and plenty of them made the drive to Springfield.

But it would be Cambridge taking home the boys' D1 state championship. The Falcons repeat as champs for the first time since Patrick Ewing graduated.


The Springfield Central girls scored the upset of the day, knocking off perennial power Braintree in the D1 final.
