Rivers Lax Wins First Ever Game at Nobles to Wrap up ISL Season

By Nate Weitzer (@nweitzer7)

DEDHAM, Mass. –Ben Churchill left a lasting mark on Rivers lacrosse in his final game.

The Princeton-bound senior goalie stopped 12 of 17 shots on goal to lead the Red Wings (14-4)  in a 12-5 win at Independent School League rival Noble & Greenough, marking the first road win over Nobles (15-4) in program history.

“We didn’t practice like we were out of [ISL] title contention,” Churchill said. “All week we said, ‘Who cares if we’re out of it, we’re going to go out and win this game and cement our legacy,’ and that’s exactly what we did.”

By Nate Weitzer (@nweitzer7)

St. Sebastian's Lax Takes Down Rival Belmont Hill in Premier ISL Clash

Arrows and their fans celebrate first win over Belmont Hill since 2012
By Nate Weitzer (@nweitzer7)

BELMONT, Mass. -- Over the last four seasons, Belmont Hill boys’ lacrosse has dominated the Independent School League, winning three titles while compiling a 47-5 overall record during that span.

Yet on a rainy afternoon at Belmont’s Gerald Jordan Field, the St. Sebastian’s Arrows asserted their claim to the ISL throne with a 14-11 victory, taking down their archival for the first time since 2012.

“It means a lot because Belmont Hill is the standard by which the rest of the [ISL] measures itself,” St. Sebastian’s first-year coach Adam White said after the win. “They do everything the right way and that’s really challenged us as a program to up our game. They’re our rivals and it feels good because we have so much respect for them.”

Massachusetts Lacrosse Recruiting Database

Tyngsboro senior middie and UMass-Lowell commit Kyle Laforge.
Compiled by Marisa Ingemi (@Marisa_Ingemi) and Joe Parello (@HerewegoJoe)

Lacrosse season is upon us, so SuiteSports has compiled a list of every college lacrosse commitment with ties to Massachusetts that we could find. As always, if we've made a mistake or left somebody off, Tweet editor Joe Parello here.

For our baseball recruiting database, click here.

Ed. Note- If a player has "Ivy League" listed as their commitment, they are in the process of being admitted to an Ivy League program, but have not made public which one (at least as far as we can find). The Ivy League recruiting process is a bit different, and you can read all about it here. Of course, if we have a player listed as "Ivy League" and you specifically know where they are going, Tweet at editor Joe Parello and he will update the listing.

Also note that for out of state prep schools featuring Massachusetts natives, we have listed the player's home town in parentheses after their commitment.
