MALDEN, Mass. – Offense was hard to come by on a chilly Opening Day at Malden Catholic, but Lancers junior righthander Nick Iannuzzi kept his team in the game against Catholic Conference rival Xaverian.
Xaverian threatened with runners in scoring position in each of the first three innings, but Iannuzzi stranded all five Hawks before settling down to throw a complete-game shutout and power the Lancers to a 1-0 victory on their home turf.
