CMass All-Stars and Award Winners Watch List 2014

Jared Ward has been one of many pleasant surprises for St. John's this year.
By Joe Parello (@HerewegoJoe)

The regular season is nearly through, so now seems like as good a time as any to present you with my Central Mass All-Star watch list.

Both the regular season and the postseason will be taken into account in my final All-Star team, so much is still to be determined. But, these are the guys that I'm looking at right now.

If you would like to nominate a player, just leave their name, school and position in the comments. Or, you can email your suggestions to me at jparello86@gmail.com.

Or heck, you can just tweet me.

Anyways, here are the guys on my watch list by position, they are sorted alphabetically by their school. The bottom also includes my nominees for Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Breakout Player of the Year.

Obviously, the playoffs will have a dramatic impact on the team and those awards.

Oh, and if I have anything wrong (position, name spelling, etc), feel free to correct me in the comments section as well.

Sean Moran junior at Doherty is a phenomenal goalie!!!

I'm sorry but doherty still has no legitimate chance at making it out of the first round of playoffs not even considering the second round

Aronson from Grafton??? Have you looked at their roster... the kids not even on the team.

Worcester is not good enough to make it anywhere there defense and midfield arent good enough, and jack gallagher isnt a good attack man so they really only have a few players

David Bianculli is a mid

Thanks for the correction on Bianculli, I just changed that. As for Aronson, I have three different pictures of Grafton game day score books (not to mention film of him playing) that have him listed as their second D-Pole. So, unless Grafton is playing a giant practical joke on me, or he has left the team since their game at Worcester last week, I'm going to go ahead and assume he's on the team, lol.
I won't get into the Worcester debate, but I will say that I wouldn't underestimate that group of kids, and point out that no teams other than Longmeadow and St. John's are a "sure thing" to get out of the first round. D2 Central/West is absolutely stacked this year.

The four poles on grafton are Youki Azouma, Connor Evans and Dan Bartoszwitz. Then Thomas Nicalek off the bench

That's not the information I have. I guess it's possible Grafton has been incorrectly filling out their score books all season. Shoot me an email at jparello86@gmail.com and I'll show you the rosters I have.

Can't wait to watch Saint John's run through, around, and completely over Worcester.

What team do all of you guys play for -cj gallagher

They wont say Cj, they scared. -Zack O'Gara

Good choices, but i'd still like to see Grafton's head coach nominated for best eyes.

King (Algonquin) has played primarily at middie this year, very seldom on attack. Is tremendous on ground balls, an absolute vacuum, and great scoring touch including 2 OT winners.
Mike Martens (Algonquin sophomore) has to be on the list at middie, phenomenal face off guy, must be in range of 80-90% win rate or more.
Kinne (Algonquin) has incredible speed & quickness, good hands, plays both middie and attack. Is a pass-first type but has stepped up his finishing since moving back to playing mostly attack in the last half dozen games.

how can you have seniors on the "breakout player list" ..
makes no sense. you have sophomores like chase K from grafton, pietz from shep hill , even the junior from doherty , james b.. they all did good things as freshman and sophomores last year .. senior jahmal from doherty? no way …

bianculli . kid from shep hill is a beast !! 111 points on the year from midfield? ground balls like no one business, should be on the player of the year list without a doubt !!! Pietz 65 points as a sophomore ? thats a break out season in most peoples books ..

in my opinion, the attack should be as follows
first team- Smiley - Wood - Tinsley
2nd team- Ward - LeClair - Kapascienski
3rd team- Vachon - Bowler - Bouchard
