Mass High School Rivals and UMass Teammates, Izzo & Fahey Reunite on Boston Cannons

Every once in awhile, a pair of high school teammates meet up again, whether it be in college or the professional level. For a pair of Boston Cannons teammates, they’ve had the opportunity to compete against and with each other for nearly a decade.

Ryan Izzo and James Fahey, both key cogs in the Cannons defense, played together at UMass.

But before their college days, the two competed against each other in the MIAA.

Westfield Lacrosse Holds Off St. John's (Shrewsbury) to Reach D2 C/W Final

SHREWSBURY - Today’s D2 Central/West semifinal matchup up was a thriller between the Pioneers of St. John’s (Shrewsbury) and the Bombers of Westfield. In the end, it was the Bombers who prevailed, 8-7, after battling off a late rally from the Pioneers.

The storylines from this game were ground ball battles and timely calls from the officials, and Westfield seemed to benefit from both.

Walpole Lacrosse Runs Away from St. John's Prep in Creator's Crosse Final

LEXINGTON - Walpole used six straight goals in the third and fourth quarters to remain undefeated on the season with a 12-10 victory over St. John’s Prep in the finals of the Creator's Crosse tournament.

The Rebels (7-0) trailed to open the second half, then endured a three-goal run by the Eagles (3-4), but a strong possession second half carried Walpole.

Conor Foley scored three for the Rebels to lead the attack.
