Worcester, Mass. -The St. John's (Shrewsbury) Pioneers are headed to the Division 2 Central/West title game after defeating the Westfield Bombers, 11-8, Tuesday at Assumption College.

Northboro, Mass. - The Westfield Bombers visited the Algonquin Tomahawks Thursday afternoon and came away with an 11-9 win, led by a ferocious defensive effort.

Westfield got off to a hot start, and did not trail for the entire game.

Shrewsbury Hockey Headed back to D3 Final after Topping Westfield

Springfield, Mass. - The Colonials of Shrewsbury (16-2-2) defeated the Bombers of Westfield (14-5-2), 2-1 at the Mass Mutual Center on Wednesday night, advancing to championship Sunday at the TD Garden in Boston for the second consecutive year.

The Colonials were led offensively by twin brothers Anthony and Liam Quinlivan. Each had beautiful snipes in the slot, tallying their 22nd and 28th goals this season, respectively. The Quinlivan brothers have also totaled 50 and 48 points respectively this season, carrying the load with fellow line mate Tyler Borys, who has 31.

Longmeadow Wins Division 2 Central/West Once Again

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. - Stop me if you have heard this one before; the Longmeadow Lancers are the D2 Central/West Champions. 

To complete their third title in a row, the Lancers ended the unexpected run from the Westfield Bombers and won 16-6. 

The Bombers had upset Minnechaug 5-4 in the quarterfinals, and shocked the Saint John’s Pioneers with an 8-7 victory in the semifinals, but were unable to complete the upset against the Lancers.

Westfield Lacrosse Holds Off St. John's (Shrewsbury) to Reach D2 C/W Final

SHREWSBURY - Today’s D2 Central/West semifinal matchup up was a thriller between the Pioneers of St. John’s (Shrewsbury) and the Bombers of Westfield. In the end, it was the Bombers who prevailed, 8-7, after battling off a late rally from the Pioneers.

The storylines from this game were ground ball battles and timely calls from the officials, and Westfield seemed to benefit from both.

Pittsfield Baseball Hangs on Against Westfield

Pittsfield pitcher Jay Coyne collected the win Saturday, but it wasn't easy for the Generals.

WESTFIELD - For all of he hard work, clutch hitting and solid pitching Pittsfield had going for itself over the course of the first six innings, everything nearly came unraveled after Westfield put forth a huge rally in the seventh inning.

The Generals built themselves a tidy six-run cushion heading into the final frame, only to watch in horror as the Bombers continued to send runners across the plate. With the tying run standing on third, relief pitcher Hayden Harrington recorded the final out on a fielder's choice, a force out at second which allowed Pittsfield to exhale a major sigh of relief, as it held on for a 7-6 victory Saturday at Billy Bullens Field.
