WRENTHAM - Holding on to a 16-game winning streak, King Philip was on the ropes.

Already down 10-0, the Warriors were teetering as rival Mansfield motored down to the 10-yard line, looking to create an insurmountable lead right before the half.

Then, in an instant, the complexion of the evening changed.

WRENTHAM - One year after being the staples of a Division 1A state title run, the tandem of Brendan Lydon and Shane Frommer proved they have not missed a beat.

Behind a pair of touchdown passes from Lydon, and a game-clinching 57-yard touchdown run from Frommer, King Philip held on for a 24-14 win over North Attleboro in a Hockomock League crossover matchup at King Philip Regional High School on Friday night.

The win is King Philip’s 14th consecutive victory, dating back to Thanksgiving Day in 2015.

Mansfield Tops Franklin in Critical Hockomock Clash

FRANKLIN, Mass. - That’s one way to strike back.

Nearly one month ago, Franklin manhandled Mansfield in a 52-40 road victory.

On Friday night, Mansfield returned the favor.

Behind 14 points from Max Boen, the Hornets dominated from start to finish en route to a 60-43 victory over Franklin at Franklin High School. The win is Mansfield’s ninth straight dating back to January 13th.

Weber and Boulter Lead Mansfield Past Bridgewater-Raynham

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Ever since falling to their Hockomock League rival in Franklin by 14 at home, Mansfield has looked like a completely different team.

In large part, that can be attributed to the play of Tyler Boulter and Christian Weber, who both were implored in the last two weeks by head coach Mike Vaughan to become more aggressive at the offensive end.

Both Boulter and Weber have responded to Vaughan’s words with authority, and continued their high level of play on Sunday night. Behind 17 points from Weber and 13 more from Boulter, the Hornets knocked off Bridgewater-Raynham 52-45 at Bridgewater-Raynham High School.

Franklin Makes Hockomock Statement Against Attleboro

FRANKLIN, Mass. - Ever since their heartbreaking loss to Catholic Memorial, Franklin has been on a mission.

Behind 18 points and 7 rebounds from Josh Macchi, the Panthers picked up their fourth consecutive victory on Tuesday night, defeating their Hockomock League rivals Attleboro, 61-49, at Franklin High School.

It has been quite the turnaround for the No. 7 Panthers, who saw their hearts ripped out by Catholic Memorial just two weeks ago when they lost a five point lead with 30 seconds to play.

Now, Franklin (9-2, 5-0) has asserted itself as the team to beat in the Hockomock, knocking off Oliver Ames and Taunton to go along with heavyweights Mansfield, and now, Attleboro.

No. 9 Franklin Downs No. 4 Mansfield in Hockomock League Slugfest

MANSFIELD, Mass. - With his team up by 13 points in the second half of a rivalry game on the road, Franklin junior Connor Peterson rose up to meet Mansfield’s star forward Sam Goldberg on a drive.

The 6-foot-5 Peterson out-jumped the 6-foot-4 Goldberg, pinned his shot attempt against the rim, and ripped the ball down to start a fast break. While it was just one play, the message was clear from the Panthers leader: We are not going to give anything away.

No. 9 Franklin jumped out to an 11-1 lead in the early going and never looked back on the way to a 52-40 win at No. 4 Mansfield for the right to sit alone atop the Hockomock League standings.
