If MIAA Stars Entered the NFL Draft: 2020 Edition

Two-time defending Division 1 state champion St. John's Prep is well represented in our MIAA/NFL Mock Draft.

By Matt Feld (@Mattyfeld612)

With the NFL Draft officially up and running, SuiteSports is back with its annual MIAA/NFL Draft.

If you need to get caught up, you can find our 2017 MIAA/NFL Draft here, our 2018 edition here, and lastly our 2019 draft here.

A reminder of the rules for players being taken in our MIAA/NFL Draft:

1. The player must be a senior. I know college juniors (and redshirt sophomores) can be taken in the real NFL Draft, but that's not how our draft works.

2. The player can be headed to prep school next year. Since we don't include ISL or other Prep School players in our draft, guys who are finishing up their MIAA careers and graduating from an MIAA school get the chance to be drafted.

3. We're keeping our mock draft to two rounds this year, although we did throw in a simulated trade for the first time. Otherwise, the order is listed as it was heading into the first night of the NFL Draft.

4. We are not pretending our 2017, 2018, and 2019 MIAA/NFL Drafts actually happened.

5. Any complaints? We're all ears.

Anyways, without further ado, here is our 2020 MIAA/NFL Draft.

MIAA Football: Top 25 Poll Week Six

St. John's Prep dominated BC High on Saturday afternoon to remain at No. 4 in our poll.

By Matt Feld (@Mattyfeld612)

It was a pretty status quo week across the MIAA Football landscape with a majority of teams in our top 25 holding serve.

There were a couple of exceptions. Needham took its first loss of the year to Milton despite a big night from Matt Smith dropping them down to No. 9 in our poll. Speaking of Milton, the Wildcats make their first appearance in our poll this season at No. 23.

Duxbury, meanwhile, moves into the top five as it continues to roll. Springfield Central makes the biggest move of the week, surging up to to No. 15 following a blowout win over Westfield.

Central Catholic continued its steady rise back towards the upper-echelon with another impressive performance in a win over Methuen.

Now, here is our brand new MIAA Football Top 25 Poll as selected by our panel of writers, correspondents, and editors.

1. Everett (6-0; Last Week: 1)  Everett defeated Medford for the 27th consecutive time on Friday night. You have to go back to the

Milton Rises to the Occasion, Takes Down Needham

By Matt Feld (@Mattyfeld612)

Milton, Mass. – There was no secret where the football was going.
Both sidelines, the officials, and the full house in attendance at Brooks Feld in Milton had seen Needham star playmaker Matt Smith dominate for most of the second half. So, with the game down to one final play the Wildcats were ready for  what was to come.
On fourth and goal from the six-yard line and 45 seconds left, Rockets quarterback Charlie Ogletree lofted a jump ball to Smith only for a pair of Wildcat defensive backs to swat it out of bounds as Milton moved into sole possession of first place in the Bay State Herget with a 22-14 win over No. 5 Needham on Friday night.
