Bob Lobel: Is David Worth the Price?
By Bob Lobel (@boblobel)
Ok, I'm confused.
Though, admittedly, it doesn’t take much.
The signing of David Price didn’t appear confusing, but why then do I think the Red Sox have moved into a new neighborhood with a pricey address? In fact, it became so pricey that it becomes annoying. Annoying because somebody has to pay for it, and when you pay that much and take it home, it better produce.

Lobel's Question of the Week: The Best Owner in Boston Sports
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on a sports question he's been thinking about.
You could make a case that, since the turn of the millennium, Boston has been blessed with the two best owners in major American professional sports.
Since purchasing the New England Patriots in 1994, Robert Kraft has seen his team appear in seven Super Bowls, winning four. Things have been especially great since Tom Brady and Bill Belichick teamed up, as the Pats have the league's highest winning percentage since 2001 (Brady's first year as a starter), a league-high 12 division titles, league-high four Super Bowl wins and league-high six conference championships.
Yes, the last 14 years have been very kind to Kraft and his club.

Bob Lobel: Little Havana in Fenway
By Bob Lobel (@boblobel)
How can we make a hockey fan out of John Henry?
Why does he have to limit his time to baseball and futbol? And, of course, there is the paper. Does he know all about these complicated organizations? Everything? How is that possible? Does money make you smart?
Doesn’t smart make you money? One guess why I want him to buy the local hockey team. No, it's not signing Cuban players to skate, but the way they are setting up the Red Sox, with cash, cash and more cash being thrown toward Havana, John Henry is making a commitment.

Bob Lobel: The Demotion of Jackie Bradley Jr.
By Bob Lobel (@boblobel)
Just as I start to peck away about the demotion of Jackie Bradley Jr., I hear on the Sox/Angels game I’m watching, the exact same thing from Orsillo and Remy stealing the thunder.
“The greatest centerfielder, bar none, in the last decade at least.”
Stopping short of saying all time, it’s not out of the question that, when the sample size continues to grow, if it continues, he could occupy that lofty position.
Best of all time centerfielder is no small thing. It’s a tough position with many demands, but JBJ always seemed to amaze in the short time he was here.
Just don’t put a bat into his hand.
