Lobel's Question of the Week: The NFL or NESN?
Legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear from you in his poll of the week.
This week, Lobel's question centers around two organizations that have taken their share of lumps over the past few weeks.

Lobel's Question of the Week: Should I Have Gone to New York?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion about a sports question he's been thinking about.
This week Bob would like to hear what you think about his decision to not join CBS in New York, and instead stay with WBZ in Boston 30 years ago. As he covered in his blog last week, this move made way for Jim Nantz to become one of the biggest personalities in media. I'll let Bob take it away from here. -Ed.
Yes, this is all about me and fork in the road decisions.
Of course I am interested to hear your response or judgement. Unlike Jack Black in Tropic Thunder, who begged not to be judged, go ahead and judge away.

Lobel's Question of the Week: Do You Believe Big Papi?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion about a sports question he's been thinking about.
This week Bob has a simple question for you: Do you have believe David Ortiz when he says he never knowingly used performance enhancing drugs (PEDs)?
In a lengthy post on The Players' Tribune, the Red Sox slugger admitted that he did fail that drug test in 2003, but claims he didn't know about it until it became public knowledge in 2009.

Lobel's Question of the Week: What Will Losing Revis Cost the Patriots?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on a sports question he's been thinking about.
As editor Joe Parello wrote last week, the Patriots stayed true to themselves and didn't break the bank for All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis. But, another way to look at it is that New England simply didn't pony up for the game-changing defender.
What Bob is wondering is, how much will that cost them, if at all?

Bob Lobel: Your Fantasy Sports Dinner
By Bob Lobel (@boblobel)
You don’t have to pay the bill or provide the tip.
You just have to pick five people, give or take one or two, to meet for dinner and drinks. This would be a once in a life time experience.
It's probably easier to pick five people you wouldn’t go out with than the five you would. I'll start with Red Auerbach as the guy at the head of the table, and then ask John Calipari to join us some other night.

Lobel's Question of the Week: Are the Red Sox Investing Enough in Starting Pitching?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on a sports question he's been thinking about.
The Red Sox front office seems to have totally changed its philosophy with regards to starting pitchers and finding an "ace."
As Boston prepares to go younger and cheaper with its starting rotation, why do you think the powers on Yawkey Way have changed their minds, and is it a good idea?
Many have pointed to the inflated prices of these top pitchers not matching their in-game value, while others will say they don't pitch enough innings to deserve top dollar. Is it worth sacrificing a highly-touted pitching staff to improve Boston's defense, hitting and overall speed?

Lobel's Question of the Week: The Best Owner in Boston Sports
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on a sports question he's been thinking about.
You could make a case that, since the turn of the millennium, Boston has been blessed with the two best owners in major American professional sports.
Since purchasing the New England Patriots in 1994, Robert Kraft has seen his team appear in seven Super Bowls, winning four. Things have been especially great since Tom Brady and Bill Belichick teamed up, as the Pats have the league's highest winning percentage since 2001 (Brady's first year as a starter), a league-high 12 division titles, league-high four Super Bowl wins and league-high six conference championships.
Yes, the last 14 years have been very kind to Kraft and his club.

Lobel's Question of the Week: Belichick's Job for Life?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
Supreme Court Justices, The Pope and… Bill Belichick?
Well, ok, Bill may not officially have the Patriots' coaching job for life, but it sure would be hard to see him losing it any time soon.
Even if the Pats lost a heart breaker the way Green Bay did yesterday, you likely wouldn't even begin to hear rumblings about Belichick's job status.
So what would it take for New England to part ways with Bill Belichick?
Multiple big playoff losses? Multiple non-playoff seasons? A scandal involving the theft of the largest hoodie warehouse in the Northeast? None of the above?

Lobel's Question of the Week: The Olympics in Boston?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
Boston is always Strong, but now we're faced with a choice that could end up being Boston Smart or Boston Stupid: Should our fine city host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games?
Boston was chosen as America's representative to pitch to the Olympic Committee, and many out there think it has a good shot to win the bid.
But, do you want to see the Games in the Hub?

Lobel's Question of the Week: Vinatieri or Gostkowski?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
There hasn’t been a time that Adam Vinatieri has walked onto the field that a feeling hasn’t stirred inside my fan parts. My fan parts remember him as the guy that made the biggest plays in the biggest games we have witnessed.
That would include the final game played over a decade ago at Sullivan/Schaeffer Stadium. He always maintains his biggest kick was in that snow against the Raiders. He won many games here and I can’t remember any he lost.
My fan parts find it really bizarre that the guy who replaced him, Steven Gostkowski, may actually be a better kicker.

Lobel's Question of the Week: The Best Patriots Team Ever?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
The Patriots captured their sixth consecutive AFC East championship yesterday with a blowout of the Miami Dolphins.
Since the NFL realigned its divisions in 2001 (also the first year of the Brady-Belichick era), New England has won an absurd 12 out of 14 AFC East titles, only allowing the Jets to win the division in 2002, and the Dolphins to take it home in 2008 when Tom Brady was lost for the season due to injury.
While the Patriots have had many great teams (three Super Bowl champions, seven AFC champions), this year's New England squad may have the best combination of explosive offense and speedy, play-making defense.

Lobel's Question of the Week: Would You Sign Ray Rice?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
Though the Patriots and teams like the Broncos have found ways to run the ball with castoffs, undrafted free agents and unheralded homegrown talent, there are teams in the playoff hunt that could use some help at running back.
Teams like the Indianapolis Colts, who are relying on first-round bust Trent Richardson to carry the ball, or the Arizona Cardinals, who have seen Andre Ellington's ineffectiveness amplified by the absence of starting quarterback Carson Palmer.
Those are just two of many teams within striking distance of the postseason that may be interested in a talented and experienced running back. Luckily for them, one is available.

Lobel's Question of the Week: A Gray Area for Discipline
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
After an explosive debut in which he rushed for 200 yards and four touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts, Jonas Gray didn't play of down of New England's next game against the vaunted Lions defense.
Why?
Because he was tardy.

Lobel's Question of the Week: The Best Patriot Not Named Brady
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
While Tom Brady may have taken an unexpected back seat to break out running back Jonas Gray last night, it is pretty much beyond debate that he is the greatest New England Patriots player ever.
Still, the race for No. 2 is pretty interesting, and Bob wants to know what you think. Here are a few of Bob's favorites, but let us know yours by participating in the poll or leaving comments below. Or, if you want to get all social media-y, you can Tweet to Bob at @boblobel.
Bob's Favorites
Adam Vinatieri
Has anybody made more clutch kicks in his career? While you could argue against a kicker being No. 2 on the list, it's hard to debate Vinatieri's importance during New England's first Super Bowl run, as he hit the game winner in the snow against Oakland (the infamous "Tuck Rule" game) and in the Super Bowl to defeat the heavily favored Rams.
Oh yeah, and he kicked another Super Bowl game winner two years later against Carolina, and was instrumental in the Patriots' third Super Bowl run the following year. He would go on to win another title with Peyton Manning and the Colts, but we won't hold that against him here.

Lobel's Question of the Week: Soccer Still Fighting for Attention
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
The Patriots may have been home enjoying their bye week Sunday, but Gillette Stadium was not devoid of action.
The MLS' New England Revolution punched its ticket to the league's Eastern Conference Championship in front of over 20,000 screaming fans in Foxborough. While the Kraft family's "other football team" is nowhere near as popular as the Patriots, the Revs' win over Columbus has created a buzz, and sends the franchise back to the East Finals for the first time since 2007.
With US Men's National Team star Jermaine Jones and one of the MLS' most exciting scorers in Lee Nguyen driving regional and, dare we say, national niche interest in the team, Bob wants to re-visit a question he asks every four years during the World Cup: Can soccer REALLY make it in America?
During the World Cup it's one thing for soccer to be on our minds. It's the world's largest sporting event and brings out our national pride. Americans like nothing more than to tell everyone how awesome America is and be a part of an "event," but if the Revolution can be a bona fide sports story in team-heavy New England, that has to bode well for the MLS and sport as a whole in America, right?
Participate in our poll below and let us know what you think.

Lobel's Question of the Week: No One Like Gronk?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend.
While Tom Brady's virtuoso performance against long time rival Peyton Manning is making headlines across the sporting world today, another Patriot grabbed Bob's attention this week.
With several highlights reel catches, tight end Rob Gronkowski is once again playing at a level few at his position have ever matched. When healthy, Gronk adds a completely new dimension to the Patriots' offense, but Bob wants to know what you think of the fun loving star off the field.
Gronkowski is certainly one of the more interesting characters in Boston sports right now, but has New England ever seen a personality like his before? If you think so, please let us know who is as (or more) unique than Gronk in the comments section below, or by Tweeting Bob @boblobel.

Lobel's Question of the Week: To Kick or Not to Kick?
Every week, legendary sportscaster Bob Lobel wants to hear your opinion on something that caught his eye over the weekend. This week's question deals with the Patriots and the fine line between "playing on" and "running up the score" in a blowout.
With just over two-minutes left in the game, New England had already benched most of its starters, including star quarterback Tom Brady, and led 48-23.
Facing a 4th and 16, the Patriots chose to kick a 39-yard field goal, pushing their lead to a full four scores. While the kick seemed to be in the normal flow of the game, many Patriot-bashers have called the move "bush league" and "unnecessary."
Bob wants to know, what say you? Participate in our poll below, and Tweet him your thoughts at @boblobel, or let us know what you think on Twitter at @SuiteSports.
